The quince is one of the oldest fruits. Its sweet taste tempted many in myths and religions. It is often associated with the Greek goddess, Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. They are thought have been referred to as the 'golden apples' of Greek Mythology Some also speculate that the quince is the fruit of the Forbidden tree of knowledge from the Garden of Eden that tempted Adam and Eve and not an apple at all.
Designed after the flower bud from the quince tree. Its spiral petals and compact bulb seemed to be perfect for a plug. The Quince is intended to sit comfortably due to its base design. Due to its girth it won't be forgotten easily.

A Balaur, in Romanian folklore is a type of many-headed dragon or monstrous serpent, sometimes said to be equipped with wings. The number of heads is usually around three, but they can also have seven heads or even twelve heads according to some legends.
Deep in Romania you will find the rugged terrain of the Carpathian Mountains. At 1,500 meters above sea level a local farmer caught out in a storm looking for shelter, stumbled across a fissure in the rocks. It was small, barely big enough for his broad shoulders to pass through. Pulling out a torch he squeezed through the opening, finding it widened into a moderately sized cave. Standing just inside the entrance was a small dry section of floor, but the rest of the cave was covered by a small underground lake about 25 meters across. Stalactites hung from the celling in various lengths, a couple gently touching the water, across the lake he could see stalagmites rising from the floor, an indication of higher ground.
To the left along the cave wall the ground was dry, so by torchlight he picked his way around the edge of the lake to explore the other side, looking for a dry place to rest and wait out the storm raging outside. In a small grotto on the far side of the lake he found an elaborate cave painting. It depicted a battle scene. Five men on horses with pikes surrounding a three headed dragon with wings. The dragon was using the arrow tipped end of its tail to impale one of the soldiers. The Balaur (Romanian for Dragon) stood twice the height of horse and riders, with its wings outspread screeching at the sky.
This sculpt has been affectionately dubbed the Klingon in the workshop for obvious reasons.
