Clean well before and after use with fragrance free, antibacterial soap and water, or a purpose made toy-cleaning product to avoid dust and germs. 

Platinum cured silicone is nonporous and can be boiled for 5-10 minutes in clean fresh water to sterilize.

Alternatively, you can clean it with 1-part bleach to 10-parts water solution...

WARNING, DO NOT Boil this bleach solution as this can potentially create Chlorine Gas, and can be harmful to your health.

Always make sure to rinse thoroughly and always allow to air dry before storage. 

It is also an option to clean your toy in your dishwasher without using soap, just make sure you empty the dishwasher before your next dinner party. Faux Phallus will not be held responsible for explaining its presence to your guests.

Silicone will attract fibers from paper/cloth towels, hair, pet hair, and dust etc. To help with this, make sure you store your toy in a bag.  It is important not to store your toy dirty or wet. Bacteria or mildew can form on the surface, which may permanently stain the silicone.

Use with water-based or oil-based lube. 

Please note: Do not use with silicone-based lube, as this can damage the surface of the toy.

Keep stored separately from your other toys to avoid chemical reactions.

Softer silicones may, over time, become imprinted if pressed forcibly against a hard material, so it is best not to store them, for example, on wire shelves or under heavy ridged items, etc.

Silicone has an unparalleled ability to maintain its integrity indefinitely despite being repeatedly compressed or flexed (i.e. the stresses most often involved with dildo and plug usage), whereas other rubbers will suffer increasing wear and tear and can potentially, fail. 

But silicone is not indestructible and care must be taken when stretched to extremes, silicone becomes susceptible to tear propagation, which is the potential for tiny nicks or creases to advance suddenly and swiftly through the material. So, it is best to be mindful and avoid over-stretching your silicone. 

E.g. Don't pull on your dildo to release the suction cup from a surface, rather peel up the edge of the toy to release the suction. 

By their very nature, dildos and plugs are rarely exposed to such extreme stretching forces, so are at limited risk of tear propagation. Areas that might be susceptible are sharp and thin edges that we try and avoid in the manufacturing process. E.g. Where provision is made for a Vac-u-Lock hole or similar accessory may tear if care is not taken in this area. Tears can also be caused by sharp objects, avoid biting or digging into the silicone with your fingernails.

Can my broken toy be repaired? Unfortunately, no. While there are silicone adhesives meant specifically to join silicone to silicone, they are quite expensive and do not achieve a bond anywhere near the strength of the original single piece. They are meant for use with a filament reinforcement mesh and so do not achieve their intended result in this instance.
